The contractors are due to begin work on the playground on the 2nd March 2020 and should be finished by the end of March. Just before this date there will be a large metal container in the car-park using up some of the space. Also the workmen will be parking their cars/vans in the car-park so the committee apologise to hall users for the inconvenience of less parking space during this time.
For the last 5 years we have held a Carol Singing evening at the hall just before Christmas with Mulled wine and nibbles. Peter Manfield kindly arranges a few friends to play while many people from the village have a good sing. A favourite seems to be the 12 days of Christmas.
The hall has held an annual show for as long as any of the committee can remember. It is usually held in July when there is an abundance of flowers, although for 3 years it was changed to September which was good for the vegetable entries. It is open to anybody in East Devon who grow their own flowers, fruit and veg or people who like cooking. There is a children’s section and also a craft section.
